Interactive Website Showcasing
Newfoundland & Labrador Set To Launch

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - An interactive mapping website designed to showcase Newfoundland and Labrador's landscape and biodiversity is set to launch this week.

The Nature Atlas is a project between the Nature Conservancy of Canada and Memorial University's Environmental Policy Institute.

The conservancy says the website is the first geographical tool of its kind in the province.

Users will be able to learn more about the province's plants and animals and make maps, among other features.

The website will be free to use and includes more than 30 maps, with new content to be added as it comes available.

The conservancy says most of the data to start will be focused on Labrador.

A series of launch events are planned for the week starting Tuesday in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
