This past month, the US Energy Department forecast that the country would be a net energy exporter by year 2022. The original forecast held that this would not occur until approximately 2028.

Surging Natural Gas exports, higher crude shipments, and robust fuel flows will help to spur this prediction along, allowing the United States to gain a title it has not held since 1953.
