The United States Environmental Protection Agency has proposed to give Oil and Gas producers more time to identify and correct emissions leaks at newly acquired drilling sites. This proposed program would give new owners up to 12 months from the acquisition date to do this instead of the current 60 days. As noted in this announcement, the proposal will be closed for comments on June 4th for a decision to be reached.
